This course covers the knowledge, skills, abilities, and attributes of a successful public library Trustee.
The course is led by Kevin Tomlinson, area field consultant with the Idaho Commission for Libraries. Tomlinson helps library directors and Trustees understand the policy and professional issues and legal requirements of public libraries, the need to nurture relationships with community members and government agencies, and the importance of continuing education for the individuals and organizations that make up the library and its support system. Kevin has served as reference librarian, branch head, department head, and library administrator in large and small public libraries. Kevin earned his MLS from Indiana University. He currently serves on the board of the Association for Rural and Small Libraries.
